Jesus Really Is The ONLY Answer

You’re the way when everything goes so wrong
I look to You and I belong
Safe within Your hands

On the TV every night I see
A world without love, world without peace
It makes me look to You
You’re the answer

I know You can hear me, Lord
And I pray that You would heal my world

You’re keeping me strong,
As I’m standing up for You
You’re keeping me strong
As I’m following the truth
I’m never gonna back down
Give up living for You

Jesus You came not just for me but for
Every one else so they can see,
see Your love, Lord

I wanna live, I wanna be like You
Making a change, telling the world
All about Your love
You’re the answer

I know You can hear me, Lord
And I pray that You would heal my world

You’re keeping me strong,
As I’m standing up for You
You’re keeping me strong
As I’m following the truth
I’m never gonna back down
Give up living for You

You’re the answer

This is how much God loves you

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”

Emily & Cows

This is a convo Em and I had over dinner tonight:

Emily: “Steak is just like pork chops.”

Me: “Uh, no, actually steak is, uh, cow…” (yes, I totally went there)

Emily: *shocked* “It IS????”

Me: *hesitant* “Yup, it really is.”

*silent pause as I watch the wheels turning in Em’s head, and fear what her reaction will be*

Emily: Ok, well, I guess I LOVE cow!! Moooooooo!!!

How can we know the way?

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”

“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”

Song Revision Abby Style

I stole this from Mark’s blog. It’s just too sweet of a quote not to share with you all.

“Our kids were running around the house today singing, “Jesus Loves Me” except, as with all songs, they had constructed their own lyrics.

Abby’s version, however, was especially thought-provoking. She sang: “Jesus loves me how I am.”

Over and over again.

She’s right.

And sometimes we need to hear it over and over again.

Good song revision, Abs.”

Shadowfeet by Brooke Fraser

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
toward home, a land that i’ve never seen
I am changing, less and less asleep
made of different stuff than when i began
and i have sensed it all along
fast approaching is the day

When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
when the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
when time and space are through
I’ll be found in you

There’s distraction buzzing in my head
saying in the shadows it’s easier to stay
but I’ve heard rumours of true reality
whispers of a well-lit way

When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
when the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
when time and space are through
I’ll be found in you

You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things
You make all things

When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
when time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
when time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
when time and space are through
I’ll be found in you

Our Financial Adventure Continues

Well, since my last post, we’ve made some major progress in our financial adventure. We have moved into our brand new place and couldn’t be happier. It has been a blast so far. We adore our new home. It is tiny, but very cozy AND beautiful AND it’s saving us money. We LOVE it! In fact, we weren’t even here for 24 hours and it felt like home, even among the boxes. We also started Dave Ramsey’s course ‘Financial Peace University’, with a group from church. We are 3 lessons into a 13 week class, and already have learned a TON!! I would encourage you if you have the opportunity to take this course, DO IT. And if not, I would totally recommend reading any of Dave’s books (‘Total Money Makeover’ or ‘Financial Peace’). They are LIFE CHANGING!!! The past month or so has definitely been an adventure, but tons of fun too. We know the Lord has been with us 100% of the way, and will continue to see us through as we follow His lead.

Here are some pics of our new place, minus the bedrooms & bathroom. Promise, those will come later. :) Enjoy!

Pillow Talk

This is a conversation between Emily and Abby around 7am this morning, while snuggling in bed with me.

Abby: “Emmy, I no yike pittles.”

Emily: “Yes you do, Abby.”

Abby: “Em, I no yike dasins.”

Emily: “Yes you do, Abby. You LOVE pickles and raisins.

Abby: “Otay Emmy. Sanks!”

Emily: *sigh* “You’re welcome, Abby. Now please go back to sleep.”
